Community Involvement
At Spectrum Logistics, we believe in giving back to our communities. We are always looking for opportunities to give back to our industry, support great causes, and make Spectrum Logistics a great place to work. Below are some of the types of community involvement that our senior management and employees are engaged in.
Adopt-A-Road
Spectrum Logistics, along with sister company Sea Star Line, has partnered with the City of Jacksonville on the Keep Jacksonville Beautiful Adopt-a-Road program. We have committed to cleaning up trash and debris on a stretch of road near our office the first Saturday of each month. Employees can bring their spouse and children (12 and up) if they wish to participate. Because of our company’s emphasis on being a good community citizen, we allow employees participating in the company health and wellness program to earn points through this event.
Habijax
Spectrum Logistics and sister company Sea Star Line volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity Jacksonville (Habijax). Over a period of 8 weeks, employees from both companies volunteer to build a house for in an individual in need. HabiJax works closely with the City of Jacksonville, Community Development Corporations, and the Jacksonville Housing and Community Development Commission to determine appropriate locations, land use, and properties for building and renovating affordable housing.HabiJax acquires property from public and private sources at a low cost in locations that contribute to overall community revitalization and allow affordability to our homebuyers. HabiJax focuses its efforts in the Urban Core of Jacksonville.
